Tree Pruning & Crown Work: your questions answered
Done correctly, pruning helps a tree stay healthy, safe and well-shaped. We prune to recognised arboricultural practice, making clean cuts and removing only what is needed so the tree can recover well.
Crown reduction reduces the overall height and spread of a tree, while crown thinning removes a proportion of smaller branches to let more light through without changing the overall shape. We will recommend the right approach for your tree.
It depends on the species. Many trees are best pruned when dormant in winter, while some flowering trees are better pruned after they flower. We will advise on timing when we quote.
